Farm Description
We are primarily a Pick-Your-Own Strawberry Farm, although some prepicked strawberries are available. We started our farm in 2003 with about a half an acre. Since then we have expanded to about 2.5 acres. Our home is on top of the hill. Half of the field has frontage on Old Sauk Road and the other half is located on the north side of our home. As such the front field (south side) generally ripens first and the back field ripens later which has allowed us to extend our strawberry harvest season.
Location
Berry Hill Farm is conveniently located in the town of Middleton, Wisconsin 3.7 miles west of the Madison beltline. From HWY 12, take Old Sauk Road west and look for our sign. Printable directions (pdf file).
What We Provide
We provide trays and/or quarts for you to put your strawberries in as you pick, a wonderful day outdoors, and the opportunity to learn a little about raising strawberries at our education center.
Season and Hours of Operation
Our berries are "June Bearing" strawberries. As such our season typically begins mid June unless of course mother nature gives us a rather warm spring to move us up to early June. Our season usually goes through the first week to ten days in July. Once the season is in full swing, we are open seven days a week, typically M-F 7am-12, 4pm-7pm; Saturday 7am-7pm; and Sunday 7am-4pm. However, before you depart, please give us a call to confirm open hours.
Contact Information
Since we are a small family run business, it is unlikely that we will have the opportunity to promptly respond to e-mail inquiries. Therefore, for time-senitive questions, please call (608 833-3540).
We look forward to having you visit our strawberry patch this year.
